Eva M. (May) Casey, 91, a longtime resident of Natick passed away on Nov. 1, 2010. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert L. Casey, Sr. who passed away in 1995 & with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. Born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Frederick & Lillian G. (Lindsay) May, Eva was raised in Millbury where she graduated from high school in 1937. After high school she attended Becker College where she received her AS degree in Business in 1938. After college, Eva went on to a position as switchboard operator/secretary at the New England High Carbon & Wire Co. in Millbury during the early years of WWII. At night she volunteered as a nurses aid for the Red Cross to help in the war effort. After dedicating a number of years to raising her children, Eva began her next career as a Medical Secretary at the Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick in 1960. For the next 14 years she would arrive every morning to a job that she truly loved. Even after her retirement, she would return to the hospital every day as one of their most dedicated volunteers. Eva received many awards for her service & accumulated well over 16,000 hours of volunteer service. Evas most admiral dedication was the love that she showed to her children & grandchildren. Eva is survived by her beloved children, Robert L. Casey, Jr. of Natick, David L. Casey & his wife Brenda of Milford, & Marcia Heffernan of Atkinson, N.H.; her devoted grandchildren, P.J., Michael, Patrick & his wife Nicole, Rebecca & her husband Jack, & Rachel; & her cherished great-grandson, Jackson. Relatives & friends were cordially invited to attend Evas funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. (at Natick Common) NATICK on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 followed by her Mass of Christian in St. Patricks Church, Natick. Burial followed in St. Patricks Cemetery, Natick. Visiting hours held on Friday, Nov. 5, 2010.
