EVA CARTER Eva "Begley" Carter, the last of the "summer street" girls left her Earthly body on April 1, 2008. She is now with the love of her life Everett Carter who preceded her in death in 1984. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Govan and Stella Begley, brother Robert "Skeeter" Begley, her sister Ella Wright, Dorothy Hurleym Marie Hileman and Janet Wynn. She leaves to cherish her memory, David Carter of Vero Beach, Fl., her daughter Carol Carter Lilly and husband Dr. Philip Lilly of St. Petersburg, Fl., her granddaughters, Kristin Cassidy, Naples, Fl, and Marcy (Ryan) Hesseling of New Orleans, La., her precious great-granddaughter Wylie Cassidy. She also leaves her favorite niece Gerri Pike and her husband Mel as well as many nieces and nephews who she loved. Eva was born in Hamilton, Ohio, April 27, 1915 and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1933. She did a variety of jobs in her lifetime; a banker at West Side Federal Savings and Loan, a deputy sheriff in Vero Beach, Florida, however her favorite was at a McDonalds at the age of 82, where she worked with her best friend Mildred Manning. Eva was a charter member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. The family wishes to thank all the nurses and staff at Huntington Court for their love and care of our mother as well as the Angels from Evercare Hospice for their love and support. There will be a memorial service and celebration of Eva's Life in Vero Beach, Florida at a later date with her son-in- law Dr. Philip Lilly officiating. In Lieu of flowers, Eva asks that everyone who knew her and loved her do a "random act of kindness" for someone today.
