DAVIS Eunice Elizabeth Johnston Davis 08/08/1926 - 04/27/13 On Saturday, April 27, 2013, Eunice left this world to join her beloved husband, John, in Heaven. Eunice was born in Shreveport, La. 86 years ago. Her family moved to Houston, Texas when she was six months old. She forever called herself a Texan and was proud of it. In 1950, she left Texas and moved to Key West, FL. In 1968, the family moved to Jacksonville Beach, where her husband John, a career Navy man, was stationed at Naval Station Mayport. Eunice worked at Mayport with DoD as a civil servant, until her retirement. After retirement, she and John remained in Jacksonville Beach. Eunice will be missed by her family and friends, especially her daughter, Debra Nolan (Dan), and 2 sons, William B. Alcorn, Jr. (Sissie), and John L. Davis III. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Danna, Bryan, Jack, and Connor, and three great grandchildren, Joseph, Tori, and Jaiden. She was predeceased by her loving husband, John L. Davis, Jr. in November 2012. The family wishes to express its sincere appreciation to the staff of Haven Hospice for their wonderful care. They also extend a special thank-you to Debbie, Judy, and Tamara, with the office of Dr. Sahana Kalmadi, for their caring treatment and genuine affection for our Mother. Eunice was a longtime member of Oceanside Christian Church, 130 Main Street, Atlantic Beach, Fl. A Memorial Service will be held at the Church on Saturday, May 4, at 11:00 a.m. Following the Service, the family will greet friends in the Church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, please consider an offering in Eunice's memory to Oceanside Church or Haven Hospice of Florida.
