Eugene Richard    Reilly Sr., 71     SCARBOROUGH - Eugene Richard Reilly Sr., 71, formerly of Steep Falls died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006 at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough.     Eugene was born in Portland, Maine the son of Matthew and Carolyn Johnson Reilly where he was educated and a graduate of South Portland High School Class of 1952.     Eugene entered the United States Navy Sept. 30, 1952 and served honorably until he retired on July 31, 1974.      He went back to college following the Navy and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Maine Gorham Campus in Education. He taught at Westbrook Regional Vocational Center for 13 years in the building trades.     Survivors include his children, Karen Reilly of Steep Falls and Eugene Reilly Jr. of Limington; three grandchildren, Carolyn, Emily and Ian Reilly; three brothers, Kevin, Gary, and Terry Reilly; sister, Maureen; ex-wife, Ann Asbury; many nieces and nephews; and companion of several years, Penelope Jordan.     A special thank you to the staff for their compassion and care given through the past years.     Visiting hours will be held from 4-7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 10, at the Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Rd., South Portland, with a 2 p.m. funeral service Saturday, Feb. 11 at the funeral home. Interment to follow at a later date.     In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
