Eugene M. Steiner departed this life of 86 years peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at home, on Thursday, June 17, 2010. A funeral service is on Friday, June 18, at 1 p.m. in Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Rd., Livingston, N.J., with interment in Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, N.J. Eugene was born July 17, 1923, at Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, N.J. He was an engineer and owned his own company in Newark. Eugene had lived in Verona and Boca Raton, Fla., and was a longtime member of the Cedar Hill Golf and Country Club, Livingston. Eugene leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 65 years Bernice (nee Sperling). He was the devoted father of Dr. Alan Steiner of Denville, N.J., Paul Steiner of West Orange, N.J., and Ronnie Weil and her husband, Nathaniel, of Monroe Township, N.J. He is also survived by his sister, Jeannette; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Eugene was loved and cherished by many relatives and dear friends.
