ALBANY Ethel G. Murphy, 96, died Thursday, August 26, 2004 at home. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Timothy and Mary Boyle Hatton. She retired from the division of food distribution for the New York State Department of Education. Her husband, Edward F. Murphy, predeceased her. She was the beloved mother of Margaret M. Murphy, reading specialist for the North Colonie School District; sister of the late Kathryn M. Carlson, Germaine Carlson, Jane Hatton, Frances DeLorme and Isabella Houle; dear aunt of Marie K. Butler; she is also survived by several other nieces and nephews. Funeral services Monday at 9:45 a.m. from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany thence to Christ the King Church, Westmere at 10:30 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. The parish family of Christ the King Church will gather at 4:30 p.m. for a service of Prayer and Remembrance. All are welcome. Interment will follow the Mass in St. Agnes Cemetery.
