Esther Van Geyte Smith Esther Van Geyte Smith died July 23rd, surrounded by family and her friends at Riverside Rest Home. She was born to Mary and Frederick Frotten on November 1, 1922, in Reading, Mass. She was the youngest of five children. She married Wallace Van Geyte and they raised three daughters - Donna, Debra, and Denise. Esther was a mother, a homemaker, and also worked at Addison Wesley Publishing Company for many years. Esther and Wally loved to travel around the U.S. and spend summers at their camp at Bow Lake. They were amazing ballroom dancers who danced every Saturday night until Wally died at age 62. She was a member of the Rochester Senior Citizens, the Golden Agers, the Good Old Sports and member of the Westerairs Band. Esther was a was a fabulous mother, grandmother and loved all people and animals. Esther retired and became a singer for the Westernairs Band, and traveled to nursing homes in Maine and New Hampshire to provide entertainment. She loved to have fun! Her older sister Gladys once said Esther was a "Good time Charlie". She is survived by her daughters Denise Van Geyte and Debra Boyle, and grandchildren Roy Morgridge, Julie Morgridge, and Alicia Boyle, and by three great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held at the H. J. Grondin & Son Funeral Home, 177 North Main Street, Rochester, N.H. on Sunday, July 27, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2014, at St. Leo's Church on Main Street, Gonic, N.H., with burial in Massachusetts to follow.
