AUGUSTA, Ga. - Funeral services for Mrs. Essie Mae Jones, 84, will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at 2 p.m. at McElmurray Spring Branch Baptist Church, 677 Spring Branch Rd., McBean, Ga., with the Rev. Charles Utley officiating. Eulogy will be done by Rev. Daryl K. Newton. The body will repose one hour before the service. Family and friends will assemble at 1225 Eleventh St. at 11:45 a.m. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Survivors are two daughters, Bertha Evans, Bronx, N.Y., and Brenda Scott; and devoted son-in-law, Charles Scott, Lawrenceville, Ga.; a devoted sister, Beatrice Oliver, Augusta; four grandchildren, Arthur (Robbiestene) Stone, North Augusta, Andrea (Lewis) Roper, Atlanta, Robert Weeby, Panama City, Fla., Lolita Hawkins, Bronx, N.Y.; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; special nieces, Mildred Landers, Henrietta Moore, Willa Lewis; a devoted friend, Mattie Sanders; and a host of other relatives and friends.
