Williams, Ernest L. ALBANY Deacon Emeritus Ernest L. Williams, 89, entered into eternal rest on October 30, 2013 peacefully at home. He was born in Magee, Miss. He was last employed as a security officer and court attendant with the Albany County Sheriff's Department and family court, retiring after 20 years of service. Deacon Ernest Williams was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist, Albany, N.Y. since January, 1946. He was ordained as a deacon in December, 1950 and served as chairman of the Deacon Board for 33 years. He is survived by his former wife, Lessie Williams of Chicago, Ill.; three children, Yvonne Coleman and Robert S. Williams, both of Chicago, Ill. and Ricky R. Williams of Redondo Beach, Calif.; as well as five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and two sisters. A Celebration of Life Services will be held Thursday, November 7, 2013. Viewing hours, 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon and celebration service at 12 noon at the Macedonia Baptist Church, 26 Wilson Ave., Colonie, N.Y. Interment will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery.
