ERMA PEARL (OSMIN) ALLEN WELLSVILLE, NY - Erma Pearl (Osmin) Allen, 78, of 3271 First Street, died at home in the loving presence of her family July 18, 2007. She was born in Greenwood, the daughter of Agnes (Whiteman) Fuller and Merritt Osmin. On July 26, 1946, she married Ralph William Allen, who survives. Erma was a 1946 graduate of Greenwood High School. Her life was filled with love for family and friends. As a caregiver, loving wife, mother and grandmother, she taught her family to value life and the virtues of respect, morality, devotion, and sacrifice. She was the unifying catalyst for her eight children. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing Scrabble and cards with her family. She loved to sing with her husband and sister, harmonizing the old-time songs that brought enjoyment to all those who were part of her life. In addition to her husband of 61 years, she is survived by three daughters, Marcella (Roger) Culbert of Fillmore, Marilynn (Martin) Wesche of Newfield, and Agnes Allen of Wellsville; five sons, Stephen Allen and Dwight (Gail) Allen, both of Wellsville, James (Patti) Allen of Cumming, GA, Kevin (Debbie) Allen of Avon, and Gregory (Laura) Allen of Apex, NC. Erma is survived by 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Ithaca area grandchildren are Jeffrey (Lisa Bower) Wesche (Erika and Emma) of Ithaca and Colleen Wesche Reilly (Scotia Bower, Frank and Daniel Reilly) of Newfield. Memorials in honor of Erma are suggested to the David A. Howe Public Library, 155 N. Main St., Wellsville, NY 14895, or to the American Cancer Society.
