<!-- FH = Peterson & Patch Funeral Home -->Emmett Wright Davis, 88, of Waukegan, Ill., passed away peacefully on Monday, July 26, 2010. Mr. Davis was born in Cabool, Mo., in 1922, the youngest of six children. He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army Air Corp in New Guinea, 1943-44. He graduated from Southwest Missouri State in 1947, having served as Student Council President and was awarded State Collegiate Speech Champion that same year. He received a Master's Degree from Northwestern University and served as a school principal at Washington and John Clark Elementary Schools, in Waukegan, Ill.He was an active member of the Waukegan City Club, an avid golfer and bridge player. Following retirement he served on the Waukegan School Board, the Salvation Army Board and worked as a property manager, appraiser and numismatist. Mr. Davis was a former member of the Trinity Lutheran Church Choir.He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Millicent (nee Sadlier), two children, Bridget (Chris) Busck, of Sydney, Australia and Dr. Brian (Lori) Davis, of Rochester, Minn.; five grandchildren, Briana, Erik, Shannon, Gwynn, and Kirsten.He was predeceased by his siblings, Margaret Blair, Iona Meeker, Grant, Charles, and Mildred Davis.Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thurday, August 5, 2010, in Trinity United Lutheran Church, 658 Grand Ave. Waukegan. Friends may call at the church on Thursday, from 9:30 a.m., to the time of the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Emmett Davis' memory may be made to the Salvation Army, 431 S.
