<!-- FH = WHITFIELD FUNERAL HOME -->MILLER, Emmett Jarrett "Jerry," 85, of Zephyrhills, Fla., passed away January 1, 2012, in Dade City, Fla. He was born January 21, 1926, in Akron, Ohio, son of Emmett Ira and Lola Mae "Judy" (Lane) Miller. Jerry served in the U.S. Navy from June 13, 1944 until June 20, 1946 aboard the USS Prometheus out of Bremerton, Wash. He received the American Area Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. Jerry was a member and Past Master Mason of the Masonic Lodge at the Port of Tampa #153. He was a home builder in the Tampa area, a construction superintendent for Geiger and Jones Construction (Exxon). Jerry was owner/operator of Jerry Miller Construction, Heavy Equipment, Site Preparation and Land Clearing. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Lee (Gaston) Miller of Zephyrhills; two sons, Larry Charles Miller and his wife, Kyle E. Dana-Miller, of Eustis, Fla., and Robert Ira Miller and his wife, Cheryl Ann Miller, of Tavares, Fla.; six grandchildren, Ronald Colby and his wife, Haley (McMacken) Miller of Phoenix, Ariz., Michael Lee Miller of Tampa, Sarah Laree (Miller) Allen and her husband, Jon, of Juno Beach, Fla., Daniel Edward Miller and Joshua Emmett Miller, both of Tavares and Ty Vincent Miller of Palm Bay, Fla.; and four great-grandchildren, Cainan McMacken Miller, Mikayla Rae Lynn Miller, Dylan Robert Allen and Myella Marie Allen. He was predeceased by a son, Danny Lee Miller. Services will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home.
