STEWART Emma Lorraine Stewart, age 83, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 30, 2005, at St. Vincentes Medical Center, Bridgeport. She was born to the late James and Ophelia Baker and was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport and Stratford. Lorraine was as an avid reader and birdwatcher that loved sitting in her yard with a good book. Those who had come to know, love and respect her, will solely miss her quiet spirit and sage guidance that was seasoned with a sense of humor. In addition to her loving husband, James H. Stewart, left to cherish her memory are sons, Morris Alston of Jackson, Miss. and Bryan Stewart of Norcross, Ga.; daughter, Margaret Davis of Stratford; granddaughter, Julienne Alston of Valpariso, Ind.; great-granddaughter, Adalia Alston of Valpariso, Ind.; sisters, Ethel White of Atlanta, Ga., Alice Langston of Bridgeport and Ophelia Howe of Newton Lower Falls, Mass.; cousin, Ophelia Tyler of Stratford; four nieces; 14 nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m., Saturday, August 13, 2005, in the funeral home. Friends may greet the family from 4 p.m. until time of service. Interment at the convenience of the family.
