EMMA ANITA (QUARRIER) RESMONDO DEAN 1913 - 2010 Emma Anita (Quarrier) Resmondo Dean passed from this life on March 15, 2010, at the age of 96. Nita, as she was known to most, was the much beloved Matriarch of our family. She was a native of Escambia County, FL, and moved to Innerarity Point with her parents and siblings in 1926. She was the oldest of eight children, of Fletcher B. Quarrier and Emma (Peake) Quarrier. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Irmie S. Resmondo, Sr.; and W. Fred Dean; son, Robert E. (Bobby) Resmondo; son-in-law, Lester Fowler; grandson, David E. Resmondo, Jr.; step-grandson Anthony Dean; sisters, Nell Q. Pfeiffer, Mina Q. Durant, Lela Q. Langlois, and only brother, Fletcher B. Quarrier, Jr. Survivors include her children, Irmie S. Resmondo (Sandy), David E. Resmondo (Barbara), Donald R. Resmondo (Lucie), Darrah Nell (Sis) Resmondo-Fowler, Emogene Resmondo Johnson (Bill); step-children, Ray Dean (Janice), Durden Dean (Kathy), Sam Dean (Susan); sisters, Daisy Q. Durant, Jane Q. Moloney, Jean Q. Oldmixon-Elpers (John); sisters-in-law, Willie Kate Dean and Lucie (Resmondo) Suarez (Bud); fifteen grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, with another due soon, as well as other step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She became a member of the Innerarity Point Church of Christ when the congregation first began at its former location on Innerarity Point Road. She did spend fourteen years in Montgomery, AL, when she and late husband Fred, retired and moved to the Dean farm. There, she was a member of the former Butler Mill Church of Christ and the LaGrange Woman's Club. She taught Sunday School for many years. In earlier times, she worked at Pleasant Grove Elementary and Navy Point Elementary in the school cafeterias; and also was a caregiver for the elderly. We are thankful to God for her long, loving and caring life. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate, in her memory, to Emerald Coast Hospice at 5401 Corporate Woods Drive, Pensacola, FL, 32506; or to the Innerarity Point Church of Christ, 13250 Gulf Beach Highway, Pensacola, FL 32507. Special thanks to the untiring care, love and devotion of all her family. Also to her Emerald Coast caregivers, D'Arcy, Rod, Alesha, Sharon, Iris, and the others who came weekly over the last 15 months; and to Mary and Michaela. Also to Dr. Ross Robins and his staff at Sacred Heart Group for their many years of compassionate care; and her church family for their prayers and love. In celebration of her life, a visitation will be held at the Innerarity Point Church of Christ from 10:30 to 11:30am, on Friday, March 19, 2010 with services at 11:30am. Burial will follow at the Spanish Cemetery in Lillian, Alabama. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Sonny Resmondo, Danny Resmondo, Robert Resmondo, Donny Resmondo, William Johnson, Jr., Larry Taylor, and Samson Dean. Church of Christ Minister will officiate.
