Emily Kate Smith was made fully whole in body, mind, and spirit as she passed into eternity December 30, 2007, in Orlando, Fla., after an 8-year battle with leukemia. She was born May 27, 1994, in Houston, Texas, lived in Oklahoma City for four years before moving to Port Orange in 1998 where she attended Warner Christian Preschool and Horizon Elementary. In 2006 she moved to Lynchburg, Va., where she attended Forest Middle School. Emily loved people and inspired many by the joy she spread to others. She is survived by parents, Sam and Sonja Smith; and siblings, Zachary, New York City, and Megan and Abigail, Lynchburg. A celebration service will be held at White Chapel Church of God, today (Thursday, January 3) at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Give Kids the World in Kissimmee, Fla.
