Emily Rose (Gilders) Davisof Chelmsford; 91 CHELMSFORD -- Emily Rose (Gilders) Davis, 91, a resident of Chelmsford since 1968, passed peacefully on Monday, June 18, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Chester Harding Davis with whom she would have celebrated her 69th wedding anniversary in November.She was born in England on January 5, 1921 and was the daughter of the late William James and Rose Lillian (Nurse) Gilders.Emily and Chester met during World War II and were married in England. She cherished animals and was a member of the US Humane Society for Cruelty to Animals. Emily also loved music and took pleasure in dancing. She enjoyed knitting and loved flowers. Her favorite pastime, however, was spending time in the company of her loving family.In addition to her husband, Emily is survived by her children; Sandra R. Klopfer and her husband Albert L. of Coventry, CT, Linda Davis of Chelmsford, and Paul C. W. Davis and his wife Amelia of Chelmsford, 6 grandchildren; Albert, Andrew, and Michael Klopfer, Hilary Klopfer Burns, and Andrew, and Spenser Davis, as well as 8 great-grandchildren.DAVIS -- EMILY ROSE (GILDERS). Visitation will take place on Thursday from 10 to 11 am at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD followed by a Funeral Service at 11 o'clock at the Funeral Home.
