Emily Ethel Todd, a former resident of Franklin, MA and Alton, NH died on July 23, 2012 at Milford Care and Rehabilitation Center in Milford. Emily was born in Lynn, MA on Dec. 31, 1919. She was the daughter of Thomas and Manola (Wentworth) Todd. She was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School and Burdett College. Emily married Paul Todd who had a career in the United States Air Force. They had six children and traveled around the world making their home in several of the contiguous United States, as well as Hawaii and the Philippine Islands. Feeling strong New England ties, they eventually retired to the lake regions that they loved in Alton Bay, NH on the shores of Lake Winnepsaukee. A lover of reading, knitting, and jigsaw puzzles, Emily also spent time as a volunteer. She donated her time and services to hospitals on some of the military bases where they lived, to the Red Cross blood drives, to the womens groups in her church, and to the Gilman Museum in Alton. Predeceased by her husband, Paul A. Todd, she is survived by a sister, Florence Mariano of Windham, ME and a brother, Thomas Todd of Franklin, MA. She also leaves her six children and their families: Patricia Reinertsen and her husband Allan of Mansfield Center, CT; Carol Vogel and her husband Charles of Medway; Paula Todd of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; Janet Manchester and her husband Harvey of Smyrna, DL; David Todd and his wife Linda of Greenville, NY; and Larry Todd and his wife Barbara of Framingham. She also leaves five grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the James E. Kellett and Son Funeral Home, 21 West St., Milford, MA. There will be no calling hours. A private graveside funeral service for the family will be held in Alton Bay, NH.
