Emilien Joseph Joncas, 45 Ontario St., Kapuskasing, died at Extendicare Nursing Home on Apr. 27, 2000. He was 74 years old. Mr. Joncas was born Feb. 28, 1926 in Grande Rivière, Québec. He was employed as a forestry worker. He belonged to La Forge, enjoyed fishing, and was very hard-working and devoted to providing for his children. Mr. Joncas was predeceased by daughter, Ghislaine, three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Rose-Alda; sons, Claude (Célina) of Kapuskasing, Clermont (Huguette) of Hearst, Ghislain (Mirielle) of Sudbury, and Réjean (Nicole) of Moonbeam; daughters, Ghislaine (Gaetan) Joncas of Gatineau, Ginette (Roger) Mongrain of Timmins, Alice (Michel) Carrière of Thunder Bay, Carmen (Gilbert Caissy) Joncas of Ste. Anne des Plaines. Mr. Joncas is also survived by brothers, Jean-Marc, Gérard, Gilles, and André, all of Grande Rivières, and Normand of Opasatika; sisters, Rollande of Drummondville, Théodra Duguay of Ste. Delaïde de Pabos, and Cécile Joncas of Montréal. He had 16 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Rev. Roger Pronovost directed the funeral services May 1, 2000 at Notre Dame des Victoires. Mr. Joncas will be interred at the Kapuskasing Cemetery.
