PETERSON, Elsie (Whittaker) Johnstone January 24, 1914 May 15, 2006 After several years of declining health, Elsie gently passed away at a care facility in Cobble Hill on Vancouver Island. Elsie was born in Saskatoon, but spent her adult life in Vancouver and Victoria. She was predeceased by her first husband Jack Johnstone in 1946 and in 1991 by her second husband Bill Peterson, whom she married in 1974. She leaves behind her three daughters, Judith Klang (Vancouver), Joan Thomson and husband Don, (Cobble Hill), Donna Stadt and husband John, (Thetis Island) as well as six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her tenacity, wit, fondness for animals and passion for music. She was an exceptional pianist who passed on to her children her love of music. Her family would like to acknowledge the kindness shown to her during her 10 years at the Wellesley in Victoria and give special thanks to the staff at the Gatehouse in Cobble Hill for the affection and care given over the past two years. She will be cremated and her remains interred in Forest Lawn, Burnaby, with her beloved Jack. A family reception will be held at that time. Sleep well, mom; and thanks for the music. 245401
