JOHNSON Elsie M. Johnson, age 78 of Bridgeport, entered eternal rest Thursday, March 24, 2011 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in Jamaica, West Indies, she was a resident of Bridgeport since 1984. Elsie was employed with Goodwill Industries as a sorter for ten years. She was a member of Temple Emmanuel where she served on the Mother's Board and as a Sr. Missionary. Her husband, Arthur Johnson and sister Donnett Gordon, predeceased her. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Leroy Clark and Kenneth Johnson of Jamaica, Michael and Desmond Johnson of Bridgeport; daughters, Hillary Johnson, Marjorie Anderson and Yvette Johnson, all of Bridgeport and Carmen Fussell of Florida; brothers, Everton, Dalbert and Ancel Gordon, all of Jamaica; sisters, Allison Lopez, Rose Dias and Ezadney Cyzonaski, all of New Jersey; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday 7 p.m. at Temple Emmanuel, 515 Union Avenue, Bridgeport with Pastor Charles Jackson, officiating. Interment will take place Saturday 10 a.m. in Park Cemetery.
