Mr. Ellis Miller, age 78, of Samson, Ala., passed away Jan. 4, 2008, at his residence with his family at his side. He was born Oct. 18, 1928, in Blakely, Ga., to Sam and Rose Rayburn Miller. Mr. Miller been a resident of Geneva County and was Baptist by faith. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving his country in the United States Army. He worked as a carpenter. He enjoyed fishing and working with animals and he also worked as a veterinarian assistant. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his father and mother and one sister Ruby Huckabee. Mr. Miller is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Virginia E. Miller; four sons Jerry Miller of Coffee Springs, Ala., Joseph Miller of Moulton, Ala., Jamie Miller of Enterprise, Ala. and Johnnie T. Miller of Samson, Ala.; one daughter Theresa Smith of Samson, Ala.; five brothers Robert Miller, Clayton Miller, Billy Ray Miller, John Henry Miller and David Miller; three sisters Lucille Thames, Janice Tusky and Cindy Miller; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
