Mrs. Ellen Mae Smith, 77, of Fountain, went home to be with our Lord Friday, Sept. 9, 2011. Born in Michigan, she lived in Bay County the last 5 years. Mrs. Smith was born March 15, 1934 to Genevieve and Clarence Dear. She met and married her husband of 57 years, Charles D. Smith, Feb. 12, 1954. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and nurturing grandparent. Ellen was an amazing woman who had a heart of gold. As a homemaker, she devoted her life to her family, caring and supporting them all her life. Ellen was a beautiful, strong-willed woman filled with the desire to help those around her whenever she could. She will be sorely missed, but as long as her memories live on in us, Ellen Smith will never die.Survivors include her husband, Charles D. Smith; her daughters, Pauline Bishop and husband Jim, Vicky Wykes, and Julianne Muterspaugh and husband Paul; her grandchildren, Charles Stafford, Kimberly Cook, Susan Davis and husband Danny, Matthew Wykes and wife Terri, Michael Wykes and wife Kim, Shannon Harris and husband David, Vicky Mills, and Paul Muterspaugh and wife Hope; her great-grandchildren, Matthew Cook and wife Ashlee, Amber Cook, Michael Cook, Brent Peters and wife Amber, Dakota Davis, Jesse Davis, Connor Wykes, Colin Wykes, Corrine Wykes, Caitlin Rieve, Aubrey Wykes, Olivia Wykes, David Harris, III, Noah Harris, Justin Mills, Kaylee Mills and Zackary Muterspaugh; and three great-great-grandchildren.A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Stafford officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2011, at the funeral home.
