Ellen M. Chesler (nee Williams), of New Providence, N.J., passed away at Morristown Medical Center on Friday, July 11, 2014, at the age of 70. The visitation will be held at Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, 646 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Heights., N.J., on Tuesday, July 15, from 4 to 8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 16, at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 306 Morris Ave., Summit, N.J., at 10:45 a.m. followed by the interment at St. Teresa's Cemetery, Summit. She had been a resident of New Providence for the past 43 years. Ellen was a cafeteria aide for the New Providence Board of Education for 11 years before retiring in 1996. Earlier, she had attended Patty Fitz beauty school and worked as a beautician for Patty Fitz in Dover. Ellen was the beloved wife for 45 years of Robert Chesler; loving mother of Denise Armstrong and her husband, Eric, of Whitehouse Station, N.J., and Donna Guidetti and her husband, Ron Jr., of Summit; cherished grandmother of Brittney and Jessica Armstrong and Ron III, and Gabrielle Guidetti, and dear sister of Edward Williams of Oklahoma.
