Ellen M. Morrison, 58, of Morningside Street, died Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Keystone Center, Leominster following a courageous and lengthy struggle with Cystic Fibrosis. Ellen was born in Fitchburg, August 23, 1955, a daughter of the late Floyd and Rita (LaFortune) Morrison Sr. and grew up in West Townsend. She was a 1973 graduate of North Middlesex Regional High School. For fifteen years, Ellen worked as a computer technician at Digital Equipment Company in several offices including Boxboro. She retired in 1992. She later worked at Acton Critters Sitters where she passionately cared for animals. More recently, she was self employed providing the same type of service. Ellen is survived by her sister, June Morrison of Stoneham; her brother and sister in law, Floyd and Inis Morrison of Ashburnham; a nephew, Floyd Morrison III and his wife, Kelly, their son, Brendan Morrison; a niece, Amy Sutherland and her husband, David and their children, Thomas and Grace Sutherland; her longtime friend, Bernie Hall and her beloved cat, Tabitha. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Thursday, July 17th at St. Johns Church, 1 School Street, Townsend. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Townsend.
