->BLANCHARD - Ellen L. Davis, 80, died Nov. 16, 2013, at C.A. Dean Nursing Home, Greenville. She was born Jan. 6, 1933, in Bradley, the daughter of Walter and Flora (Lumbert) Nye.On Jan. 28, 1950, she married Lawrence Davis Sr., who predeceased her in 1998. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Ellen loved to cook for her family and friends, and enjoyed taking care of all her children.She is survived by her children, Louise Currier of Greenville, Doris Ward of Greenville, and Lawrence Davis Jr. of Blanchard; nine grandchildren, Theresa Porter, Ivy Warman, Denise Pride, Bridget Hall, Carrie Clayton, Sara Crawford, Lawrence Davis III, Glen Davis, and Aaron Davis; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.Graveside services will be held in the spring at Blanchard Cemetery, Blanchard.
