Ellen Catherine MacLeod Funeral arrangements by Patten Funeral Home It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Ellen Catherine MacLeod, 85, of Port Caledonia on Thursday, February 9, 2006, at home. Born in Donkin, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Bessie (MacLeod) Green. Ellen was a member of St. Luke’s United Church. At one time, Ellen was employed with the British Canadian Co-op. She was a life-member, past president and treasurer of the UCW and was also a member and past Noble Grand of the Queen Victoria Rebekah Lodge. Ellen is survived by her son, Kevin (Charlene), Port Caledonia; sisters, Doris Peach, Elsie (Alex) MacDonald, Annie May MacKenzie, all of Glace Bay; and also many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Ellen was predeceased by her husband, Charles William MacLeod and brothers, Gordon and Lawrence. Visitation for Ellen will be held Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Patten Funeral Home and Chapel, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, 849-7520. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb.12 at 2 p.m. in St. Luke’s United Church, Donkin, with Rev. Laura Hunter officiating and assisted by Rev. Eric Lynk. Interment will be in St. Luke’s Cemetery, Donkin. Rebekah service will be held Saturday at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Family flowers only.
