HOLMES Ella Mae Z. Holmes, 90, left to rejoin our Lord on May 2, 2010. She was a loyal and active member of First Baptist Church of Oakland for over 30 years. Mrs. Holmes was preceded in death by her children, Adolphus Zackery, Marie Humphrey, and James Zackery, Jr. and her husbands, James F. Zackery, Sr. and Otto Holmes. She is survived by her daughter, Gwendolyn Z. Austin, four grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. A celebration of 'Miss Ella Mae's' life will be held Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Oakland, 1025 Jessie St., Rev. Torin T. Dailey, Pastor. A visitation with family and friends will be held at the EASTSIDE CHAPEL of MARION GRAHAM MORTUARIES, 900 A. Philip Randolph Blvd. on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
