WAYNESBORO, Ga. - Mrs. Elizabeth Penny B. Wilson of Waynesboro, Ga., entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Burke Medical Center in Waynesboro. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 30 at 11 a.m. at the Waynesboro Church of Christ, 427 Hwy. 56 North, with Brother Michael Nelson officiating. Interment will be in Pines Cemetery. Mrs. Wilson was born in Burke County, Ga., on Aug. 8, 1931 to the late Rena Wilson Dukes and Henry Burke. Later in life she was united to Jake Wilson, Jr. During her lifetime, Penny held many professions to include farm laborer, cook, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor and friend. Penny leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Jake Wilson, Jr.; five children, Lurene Burke, Ann (Calvin) Cooper, Charles (Tami) Wilson, Edna Wilson and Carl Wilson; six grandchildren, Nikki (Chris) Scruggs, Khari (Denicia) Wilson, Tomoko Wilson, Andria Cooper, Carla (Gary) Rodgers and Charlie Wilson; a step-daughter, Thea Gilmore; 11 great-grandchildren, a devoted first cousin, Ernest Perry, Sr.; and a host of devoted cousins, relatives and friends.
