Elizabeth W. Williams West Winfield Elizabeth W. Williams, 95, of West Winfield, entered into Heaven's eternal rest Friday, November 19, 2010, at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown. She was born November 10, 1915, in Plainfield, the daughter of Lawrence H. and Mary Alice (Perry) Watkins. She married George Stanley Williams on August 9, 1947. He predeceased her on February 14, 1995. Elizabeth graduated from the Oneonta Normal School with a Bachelors Degree and began her teaching career. She retired from teaching after 35 years. She taught in Leonardsville, West Winfield and Mt. Markham. Elizabeth was a member of Federated Church in West Winfield, Order of the Eastern Star and the Herkimer Historical Assoc. She was a volunteer worker with the Herkimer County Government Food Surplus program and for the Office of the Aging. She was a natural at giving support to others. Elizabeth was an avid bowler, and loved to host Thanksgiving and Christmas for her family and friends. To Elizabeth family included her extended family and any opportunity - especially reunions - was a good cause to be together. Her daughter, Mary Alice Williams; her nephew, Russell Dutcher and his family; and members of the Williams family survive Elizabeth. She was predeceased by her siblings, Allen Watkins, Irene Dupont and Dorothy Dutcher. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 28, at 10:30 a.m. at the Federated Church in West Winfield with the Rev. Dr. Richard Tulip officiating.
