Elizabeth V. Leeof Newark ValleyElizabeth V. Lee, 94, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2005, at Our Country Parlour where she has resided for the past year. Born on July 29, 1911 in London, England, Elizabeth was a daughter of the late Richard and Elizabeth (Kerridge) Cripps. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Derek R. and Katherine Lee , Newark Valley and daughter Pauline Neilan, Hamilton, Scotland. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren and their spouses, Janice (Lee) and Peter Balzer, Raytown, Missouri, Doreen (Lee) and Ed Maggiacomo, Pleasant Valley, N.Y., Sylvia (Lee) and John Riegel, Newark Valley, Steven and Anne Marie Neilan, Christopher and Manisha Neilan, England, Colin and Leslie Neilan and Ian Neilan, Scotland; her seven loving great-grandchildren and her extended family at Our Country Parlour who provided Elizabeth with very kind and loving care. Elizabeth was a former nurse's assistant at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital in Syracuse. She was an avid reader, enjoyed classical music, flower gardening, knitting, sewing, needlework and traveling. She especially enjoyed shopping for her grandchildren.A time of remembrance and visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley. A memorial service will follow there at 4 p.m. with Pastor David Heckman, of the United Church of Christ, UCC, Newark Valley and Pastor Douglas Hill, of the Union Center Christian Church, officiating. Those wishing may kindly consider directing memorials to the church or charity of choice in memory of Elizabeth V. Lee.
