Elizabeth Stewartof BinghamtonElizabeth Stewart, 89, went to be with her Lord, Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at Wilson Hospital. She was predeceased by two sisters, Louise White and Ethel Hughes; three brothers, John, James and Robert Stewart. She is survived by 12 nieces and nephews; and many great and great-great- nieces and nephews. Betty was a longtime member of West Presbyterian Church in Binghamton. She was a Sunday school teacher for 72 years. Betty was also and elder and deacon in her church. She faithfully volunteered for Meals on Wheels, the CHOW Pantry and the Broome County Council of Churches. She was a member of the National Secretaries Association, she was awarded Secretary of the Year and was an officer for the local chapter of the association. Betty will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family.Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at West Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Th. Dr. Andrew Stehlik will officiate. Burial will be in Chenango Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Ernest H. Parsons Funeral Home, Inc., 71 Main St., Binghamton, Thursday, from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty's name to West Presbyterian Church, 80 Main St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
