THORNTON, ELIZABETH - The death of Elizabeth "Betty" Ogilvie Thornton, wife of John Archibald Thornton, occurred at the Carleton Kirk Nursing Home on April 7, 2006 after a lingering illness. Betty was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late Smeaton and Rhona (Ring) Wilson. She was employed in the X-ray department of the Saint John Regional Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of Carleton Kirk United Church, a former member of the church choir and of the Mary Neal Unit of the U.C.W. Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her sister, Audrey Sparks. Arrangements entrusted to Castle Funeral Homes "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John. In respect with Betty's wishes there will be no visitation. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at 2 o'clock from Carleton Kirk United Church "Duke Street West", Saint John followed by interment in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Carleton Kirk United Church or to a memorial of the donor's choice. [Telegraph-Journal]
