Batavia, IL - Elizabeth O. Wilson, 96, of Batavia, former long time resident of Geneva, Ill. passed away June 15, 2012, at Piedmont Healthcare in Piedmont, Alabama. She was born June 2, 1916 in Grove Oak, Alabama, the daughter of Samuel and Louetta (Chandler) O'Neal. Elizabeth was a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and loved to entertain. Elizabeth was an active member of St Peter Catholic Church as well as St. Peter's Women's Club. She was also one of the founding members of the St. Peter's Thrift Shop where she volunteered for over 35 years. She is survived by her daughter, Eloise Cothran, of Piedmont; son, John Wilson, of Taos, New Mexico; son, Brett Wilson, of Birmingham; daughter, Paula Issel, of Batavia; grandchildren, Greg (Kathy) Cothran, Janine Crabb, Evelyn Cothran, Jack and Paula Wilson, Kate and Rob Issel; great-grandchildren, Allan Cothran, Lindsey Crabb, and Quinn, Oliver and Simmy Wilson. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of almost 65 years, John; her parents; siblings, Thelma Bradley, Ruby Payne, Ruth Straughn, Joseph O'Neal and Evelyn Stallings; and sons-in-law, George Cothran and Greg Issel. Funeral Mass and burial will be held privately. Memorials in Elizabeth's memory to St. Peter Catholic School, 1881 Kaneville Road, Geneva, Illinois 60134 will be appreciated.
