Avis de décès de Elizabeth-Mary Carter


ELIZABETH MARY CARTER Elizabeth Carter, beloved wife of Stewart Carter of Buffalo Point, and formerly of Ste. Anne, Man., passed away suddenly Friday, Sept. 8, 2000. Born April 3, 1939 at at Teulon, she attend school there and graduated from Teulon Collegiate. Elizabeth married Stewart Carter on Nov. 22, 1957 and resided in Peterfield until May, 1973, when they moved to Emo, Ont., residing there until 1980 when they moved to Ste. Anne. Elizabeth was an avid gardener, and loved to bake. She taught ceramics for many years, and was a member of the Steinbach United Church. She was employed for a few years at Steinbach Bethesda Hospital, and as a Home Care giver. The biggest joy in Elizabeth’s life was her love for her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed. Surviving are her husband, Stewart; two sons, Kevin and wife, Tanis, of Winnipeg, Man., and Robert and wife, Jody, of Leaf Rapids, Man.; and three daughters, Cheryl and husband, Cliff Hagen, and Tammi and husband, Don Foster, all of Emo, Ont., and Norine and husband, Kyle Vogt, of New Bothwell, Man. She also leaves 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one sister, Allison and husband, Lloyd MacAulay of Pilot Mound; one brother-in-law, Morris (Edith) Carter of Selkirk; and mother-in-law, Lillian Curiston of Selkirk. Friends called Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000 from 7-8 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Stonewall, Man. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000 at 2 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Stonewall. Rev. Doug Flint officiated, with interment following in Windsor Cemetery in Teulon. If friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. In tears we saw you sinking. We watched you fade away. You suffered much in silence. You fought so hard to stay. You faced your task with courage. Your spirit did not bend. But you still kept on fighting, Until the very end. God saw you getting tired. When a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you, And whispered, “Come to Me.” You didn’t deserve what you went through So He took you home to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful For He only takes the best.
