Elizabeth L. Peters, age 89, of Leesburg, died Saturday, November 7, 2009, at the Timberridge Health & Rehabilitation Center in Ocala. Mrs. Peters was born in Greenwich, Connecticut, on November 28, 1919, to the late Martin & Caroline (Cevilla) Wilk and moved to Leesburg in 2007 from Danbury, Connecticut. She was a homemaker and Catholic by faith. She was affectionately known by her family as an amazing woman who loved to sew, refinish furniture, gardening and home repairs and her grandchildren. She is survived by her two sons, William Peters of Torrington, CT, Robert Peters of Leesburg, FL; her daughter, Elizabeth C. Allen of Dunnellon, FL; seven grandchildren; and six stepgrandchildren. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Connecticut in Spring. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimers Foundation. Private cremation arrangements are under the care of the Roberts Funeral Home, Dunnellon.
