Moore, Elizabeth Jean VALATIE Elizabeth Jean Moore, 88, of Valatie died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Barnwell Nursing Center in Valatie. Born in Albany on March 13, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Radigan (Cookingham). She is predeceased by her husband, Luvern William Moore in 1991. She is survived by four boys, John William Heim of Climax, N.Y., Michael J. Heim of Niverville, Thomas P. Heim of Tucson Ariz., and Richard A. Heim of Valatie. She is also survived by one grandchild Lee Heim and two great-grandchildren Victoria and Emily Heim. Also, by two very special nieces, Kristen Scala and Tara Della Rocca, among other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Connie Clifford, Joan Collins, Earl Cookingham, and Linda Volk. Betty worked for the New York State Senate where she held many administrative positions throughout her 28 years of employment until retirement in 1988. Betty was a long time member of St. John the Baptist Church in Valatie. Betty was an avid quilter; many of her quilts were used for fund raising to benefit St. John's Cemetery where she was the chairperson for the cemetery committee. She was also a proud member of the Columbia County and Kinderhook Republican Clubs in which she held many positions over the years. Betty's family would like to thank her caregivers Delba Woods, Josephine McHugh, Margaret Coons and Laura Mabb for their continue love and support as we walked this road of Alzheimer and cared for our mother. Also, a special thank you to the fourth floor Staff at Barnwell Nursing home for their care and compassion. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, Route 9, Valatie with Rev. John Molyn officiating. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook St., Valatie.
