AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Elizabeth Jackson, 64, of St. Augustine, formerly of Augusta, Maine, passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008.She was born in Chicago, the daughter of the late George and Mary Marshall. She grew up in Gardiner, Maine, and graduated from Gardiner Area High School, Husson College and the University of Maine at Augusta.Elizabeth worked in the Augusta area for many years in government, banking, real estate and finally as a nurse at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Togus, Maine. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and she loved the ocean and animals.She is survived by her husband, Herb Volk of St. Augustine; two children, Kurt Jackson of St. Augustine and Kimberly Kanter of Trenton, Maine; one sister, Brenda Houdlette of Brunswick, Maine; and several cousins.A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Western Avenue in Augusta.In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Breast Care Program, Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care, c/o Office of Philanthropy, P.O.
