Died March 20, 2011 Elizabeth Hamner Jackson, longtime resident of Huntsville, died March 20 in the peace and calm of her own bed at the home of her daughter in Plano, Texas. She resided in Huntsville from 1946 until 2006 and was employed by several groups on Redstone Arsenal. She was born in Choctaw County in July 1918, and graduated from high school in Gordo in Pickens County. She was very proud to be an Alabamian. In addition to a host of friends, she is survived by her daughter, Marcia and son-in-law Al Moore; sons, Edward W. Jackson of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, and Kirk B. Jackson of Huntsville; granddaughters, Rachel A. Moore and Caitlin A. Moore; and a devoted and loving group of nieces, nephews and cousins. A reunion of family and friends will celebrate Elizabeth's life on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Gordo City Cemetery, Gordo, where she will be interred. She cherished her family designation as "the kid with the better disposition" and all who came into contact with her over her lifetime benefited from that happy disposition.
