Mother Elizabeth Jackson, 73, East Walts Avenue, DeLand, was born April 2, 1934, in Americus, Ga., to the late Daniel and Junice Williams-Jackson. She worked many years and retired from the housekeeping department at Stetson University. Accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, she was a member of Holy Temple Apostolic Church DeLand under the leadership of Elder Benjamin Heflin. "Earth have no sorrow that heaven cannot heal." On Sunday, the evening of December 2, 2007, at Florida Hospital DeLand, Mother Elizabeth Jackson was called from her earthly journey to eternal rest with her Lord and Savior. Mother Jackson's beautiful smile and presence will be missed by all who knew her, and her memories will be cherished forever in the hearts of her family including two loving daughters, Missionary Charlie M. Ross (Jimmie) and Annie Rose Jackson; a son, Roosevelt Jackson; two grandchildren, Shandra Nichol Ross Collins (Lucky), Orlando, and Jarnie Ross, DeLand; two devoted sisters, Dannie M. Lyles, Nashville, Ga. and Juanita Jackson Young (Bill), Macon, Ga.; nine great-grandchildren, Kapryce, Jamie'sha, Jemeria, Arkeeri, Antonio "1", Jamie "her boy" Javontea, Jonathan and Joshua; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and sorrowing friends. The Home-Going Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 8, at Mt Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 335 S. Kentucky St., DeLand, the Rev. John McMillian, pastor. Elder Benjamin Heflin will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow the service at Union Cemetery, DeLand. Visitation hours are 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. today (Friday, Dec. 7) at Unity Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday and the church.
