Elizabeth Eddings Holder, 78, of 445 Hampton Ave., wife of the late Fred C. Holder, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at her home.Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of Edna Gravely Eddings, of Pickens, and the late Bates Eddings.Mrs. Holder was a homemaker, and was a member of Pickens First Baptist Church, the Anthony-Prince Sunday School Class, and was involved in several church activities. She was also a member of the Pickens Women's Club. Surviving are a daughter, Lynn H. Looper, and her husband, Larry, of Pickens; two sons, Frederick C. Holder, and his wife, Dr. Melanie M. Cooper, of Seneca, and David T. Holder, and his wife, Margaret, of Pickens; three grandchildren, Samuel F. Looper, Sydney E. Looper and Lauren N. Holder; a brother, Donald Eddings, of Pickens; and two sisters, Kathryn Johnson, of Statesville, N.C., and Carolyn Brezeale, of Greenville.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home, with Dr. Leath Johnson, the Rev. Fred Stone and Dr. Lloyd Batson officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pickens First Baptist Church, 406 E. Main St., Pickens, SC 29671; or to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 945 E. Main St., Suite 3 Spartanburg, SC 29302.The family will be at the home of the daughter: 101 Laurenwood Drive, Pickens.Dillard Funeral Home is assisting the Holder family.
