Elizabeth Smith Henderson, 78, of 79 N. Henderson Road, widow of Alvin W. Henderson, died Feb. 9, 2004, at Greenville Memorial Medical Center.A native of Greenville County, a daughter of the late Roy L. Smith Sr. and Sudie Forrester Smith, she was retired secretary for North Greenville College, was a member of Locust Hill Baptist Church and was a member of the Ladies Moorehead Circle Meeting. Surviving are a son, Kim N. Henderson, of Travelers Rest; a daughter, Jeanne Lynne Henderson, of Travelers Rest; caregiver, Betty Sizemore, of Berea; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold R. and Elizabeth Smith, of Tifton, Ga.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Florence S. Fowler, of Anderson, Helen S. and Dr. James Anthony, of Lilburn, Ga., and Joyce S. and Bill Kipp, of Morrow, Ga.; three grandchildren, Jonathan Henderson and his wife, Julie, Ashley Henderson and Matthew Henderson; and two great-grandchildren, Elijah Manning and Julia Grace Henderson.Mrs. Henderson was predeceased by two brothers, Roy L. Smith Jr. and John F. Smith.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Locust Hill Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. T.J. Marcus, the Rev. Niki Ballew and the Rev. Joel Poole. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery.Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 tonight at the Wood Mortuary.The family is at the home.
