O'CONNOR, Elizabeth Hunter Newton (Betty) - Peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 9, 2008. Beloved wife of the late Wilfred Joseph O'Connor. Loving mother of Marie, Jim and Kathleen O'Connor. Dearly loved sister of Lydia Kendall. Loving grandmother of the late Rob O'Connor and Clay Morin and great- grandmother of Nuin-Tara. Dear sister-in- law of Helen Farrell. Dear aunt to Barry Kendall, Diane Cross, the late Michael Farrell, Gregory Farrell, Paul Farrell, Tom Farrell, Gerry Chilton, Jim Farrell, Mark Farrell, and Mary Farrell. Special friend to Dorothy Lever and the late Jean Green. Predeceased by her parents Henry Keeney Newton and Lydia Hunter of Sunderland, England. Betty was delivered into this world by her beloved Auntie Mina, at home in Toronto on April 22, 1915. She was a gifted teacher of children, a pacifist, a believer in the dignity and rights of all people, a woman of faith, and a gentle soul. A celebration of Betty's life will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, at St. Andrew's United Church, 441 Rubidge St., with visitation one hour prior to the service.
