Died peacefully at Northumberland Health Care Centre in Cobourg on March 24, 2002 in her eighty-third year. A graduate of McGill University, Betty served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the war. Beloved wife of John Cassils Cowans. Survived by her children, Linda Cochrane (Brent), Andrea, and Fred (Lee Wood-Cahusac) and grandchildren John, Anne and Stewart. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2002 at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Walton Street, Port Hope, Ontario at 11 a.m. Donations to the Canadian Wildlife Federation, or the CNIB.
