GALLAGHER, (MARY) ELIZABETHElizabeth Gallagher, en- tered into eternal rest on July 1, 2005. She was tru- ly a remarkable woman. Her faith was the source of her strength and her fami- ly, the benefactors of her love. Her devoted hus- band, of 62 years, Eugene Sr., predeceased her in 1997.Elizabeth was born December 15, 1907, in Manhattan, to Henry and Mary Donovan Muldoon. She attended Resurrection Church as a child, and was married in Holy Spirit Church, the Bronx.At St. Theresa's Church, Briarcliff Manor, NY., she was active in many min- istries. Elizabeth was a member of the Ossining and Bedford Hills Women's Clubs where she had many friends.Elizabeth received the Child of Mary Sodality Medal by the Religious of the Sacred Heart and was a member of the Ladies of Charity. She was also initi- ated into the Ladies of the Holy Sepluchre. She prayed the rosary often and was devoted to the Blessed Mother. Elizabeth spent every summer in Sullivan County, NY where her Irish ancestors had settled. Her greatest joy was to come home to "The Maples" in Mongaup Valley where she wel- comed her growing family and countless friends.Elizabeth was prede- ceased by her brother, Henry Muldoon, her sister Anne (Thiele) and her be- loved daughter-in-law, Kathleen Gallagher. She is survived by her loving children: Mary (Deacon Larry) Battersby and Eugene (Theresa) Gallagher. Nine cherished grandchildren and seven precious great-grandchil- dren.Friends may call at Westchester Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial, 10 am Wednesday, July 6, at St. Mary's Church, Mt. Vernon followed by Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.In Lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations in her memory to St. Mary's Scholarship Fund, 23 S. High St., Mt.
