She graduated summa cum laude from the College of St. Elizabeth with a B.A. in economics. In 1946, Betty married Edward Morrison and they resided in Newark, N.J., raising four daughters until 1958, when they moved to Chatham where their son, Ed, was born. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Betty embarked on a commendable career in education, becoming a teacher, reading specialist, and principal for the Morris County school system. After her retirement and some extensive traveling, Betty decided to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming an attorney and graduated from Seton Hall Law School in 1992, passing the bar at 67 years of age. For several years she practiced law with her brother, Andrew Clark, at the law offices of Seaman, Clark and Addy in Perth Amboy, N.J. Betty's Catholic faith was her foundation and strength. She was an active member of St. Patrick's Church in Chatham for many years, helping with the Legion of Mary and RCIA and was a Eucharistic minister who served not only during Masses, but also as a minister to the sick and homebound. Betty led her life with remarkable intelligence, fortitude, grace, and dignity, inspiring her family and friends to love and serve others, to embrace education, and to grow in faith. She was loved tremendously and will be missed greatly. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Joseph Morrison, and her siblings, Mary (Stan), Andrew (Dotty), Peggy (Bill), and Jimmy (Babs). Survivors include her beloved children, Mary, Lizann (Dick), Joan (Jim), Michele, Edward (Jane); her grandchildren, Thomas Joseph, Rick, Maureen (Daryle), Bethann, Katie, Mary, and Eleanor, as well as her great-grandchildren, Hallie and Landon.
