CARTER Elizabeth (nee Watts) It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful death of Elizabeth Carter on March 1, 2010 at the Centre Elizabeth Bruyere in Ottawa, at the age of 92. Born in 1917 at Toronto, Betsy was the daughter of the late Harry Hobday Watts and the late Mildred Laura Thompson. She was a graduate of Bishop Strachan School and Trinity College (Bachelor of Arts). During the war she served in the RCAF in Winnipeg. She married Ernest (Nick) Carter in 1945, settling in Hudson, PQ where she embarked upon a long career as a teacher, then guidance counselor. Beth and Nick enjoyed over 60 years together until Nick's death in 2006. Beth was also predeceased by her sister Barbara in 1997. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Wendy (Terry) of Woodstock NB, grand-daughters Michelle and Alison and great-grandson Anson, and son Chris (Daniele) of Gatineau Qc, grandchildren Sandy and Emilie and their mother Noha. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, and her good companion Fred Farmer. The funeral service will be held at the Cooperative funeraire de l'Outaouais at 95 boul. de la Cite-des Jeunes in Gatineau on Friday, March 12 at 13:00 p.m. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Villa Marguerite.
