Elizabeth B. Rogers, 92, of Louisville, formerly of Princeton, KY, passed peacefully from this world on Sunday morning, August 10, 2003. She had resided at Jefferson Place Nursing Home for the past 11 years. Elizabeth will be remembered for her many professional achievements in banking and civic service. She retired as the vice president and trust officer from the then Farmers Bank & Trust Company in 1976 after more than 40 years of service. She was a past president of the Kentucky group of the National Association of Bank Women, a past president of the Princeton Business & Professional Women's Club and was named "Woman of the Year" in 1969 by that organization. She served on the Princeton City Council from 1962-1970 and was a member of the board of directors of the Princeton Chamber of Commerce from 1971-1974. She was a longtime active member of the First Christian Church of Princeton and served as secretary, organist and a member of the choir. She was also a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Vera Gunn Banister, a brother, Neil Allison Banister, and a sister, Mary Katherine Sphar. She is survived by her son, Byron Rogers and his wife, Micke, of Sausalito, CA; a grandchildren, Beth White and her husband, David, Rocky" Rogers and his wife, Doreen, of Louisville and Michele Piehl and her husband, Hudson, of Novato, CA; and great-grand-daughter, Brynn White, a student at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA, Tate White of Louisville and Audrey and Natalie Piehl, both of Novato. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2003, at Jefferson Place Nursing Home, 1705 Herr Lane. Any memoriam in Eliza-beth's honor may be made in the form of donations to the First Christian Church of Princeton.
