Elizabeth B. Liz Larsen passed away peacefully on July 20 at 82 years of age with members of her family by her side. Liz was the loving wife of Robert Y. Larsen for 63 years, and the devoted mother to her sons Steven and his wife Gail of Bethesda, MD and Jeffrey and his wife Shawn of Needham, and grandmother to Aidan Larsen, Colin Larsen, and Connor Larsen. Liz was predeceased by her grandson, Ryan Larsen. Born in Melrose Massachusetts, Liz spent her youth in Connecticut and was a graduate of Endicott College. After Liz and Bob were married, they moved about the East Coast during Bobs 3-year active service duty before and during the Korean War. After several years in Schenectady NY, Liz and Bob settled permanently in Needham. During her 50 years as a Needham resident, Liz was active in numerous organizations and activities, including the Needham Newcomers and Postcomers Clubs, the Needham Public Library, and was a past President of the Needham Womens Republican Club. She also travelled nationally for meetings of the National Federation of Republican Women. Liz enjoyed traveling with friends, playing tennis, tending to her garden, and was an accomplished bridge player. A Memorial Service will be held at the Congregational Church of Needham, 1154 Great Plain Ave, Needham on Monday, July 28th at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lizs memory may be made to the United Service Organization (USO), P.O. Box 96860, Washington, DC 20077-7677.
