Hall, Elizabeth Anne (Smith) LOUDONVILLE Elizabeth Anne Smith Hall, 86, died peacefully, Monday, April 23, 2012 at home with her daughter Patricia (Bart) McGonnigal in Loudon-ville. She was born September 7, 1925 in Bethesda, Md., the daughter of the late Mark Owen and Nina Marie Smith and sister of the late Majorie Smith Burlingame (Richard). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert E. Lee Hall in 1965. Their surviving children are Robert E. Lee Hall Jr., (Carol), Patricia Elaine Hall McGonnigal (Bart), Helen Marie Hall Priolo (Louie). Their oldest daughter Elizabeth Anne Hall Weymouth (Kent II) predeceased her. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Anne Elizabeth Hall, Christopher William Hall, Mathew Lee Hall, Albert Kent Weymouth III, Mark Christopher Weymouth, Shane Lowell McGonnigal, Ryan Hall McGonnigal, Caitlin Laura McGonnigal, Christina Marie Priolo Wellner (Eric) James Thomas Priolo (Heather) and great-grandchildren. She considered herself mom to Sally Weymouth (Kent II) and grandmother to Sara C. Chapell (Rich) and Page C. Pisapia (Michael). Elizabeth "Libby" was educated in Bethesda, graduated from Bethesda Chevy Chase High School and the University of Maryland. She also attended American University and George Washington University for her higher degrees. She taught high school English for several years primarily at Walter Johnson High School. She also worked for many years in the grants management department at N.I.H. After retirement she lived in Ft. Myers Beach for 16 years. Since 2006 primarily lived with her daughter Patricia (Bart) in Loudonville, where she was a fan at school events and sports games of her grandchildren and well known to their friends. She was a 50-year member of the Janet Montgomery Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and served as regent from 1977-1979. She was also an associate member of the NSDAR Estero Chapter in Florida. She was a lifelong member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church. She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother, a gifted teacher, avid gardener and writer. She enjoyed traveling, shelling on the beach, and family dinners. She was a true friend and made others feel good about themselves and always gave a helping hand. Her grace, smile and optimism will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C.
