Elizabeth A. CroweLoving wife, mother and grandmother LOWELL/York, ME -- Elizabeth A. "Betty" (Delaney) Crowe, 77, a resident of the Christian Hill neighborhood in Lowell and York, ME, died Thursday, August 15, 2013 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. She was the beloved wife of Robert F. Crowe with whom she shared 58 years of marriage.Born in Lowell on February 7, 1936, she was a daughter of the late James J. and Gertrude E. (Drury) Delaney.Prior to her retirement, Betty worked as a social worker for the MA Department of Transitional Assistance in Lowell. She had previously been employed as payroll supervisor for Paris Shoe of Lowell.Betty was proud of her Irish Heritage and looked forward to celebrating with her family on St. Patrick's Day.She also enjoyed time with her family at their beach house in York, Maine.Betty's family was the center of her life. Her family was her most cherished gift and her greatest legacy.Betty's family would like to thank the caregivers from Merrimack Valley Hospice and Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill for their kind and compassionate care during her time of illness.In addition to her husband she leaves her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Donna (Perry) Crowe of Tyngsboro; her daughter, Sharon Roark of Dracut; her sister, Arlene Walker and her husband Larry W. of Newport, OR; her four grandchildren, Ryan Crowe of Medford, Devin Crowe and his wife Aryn of Townsend, Ashley Roark of Burlington, VT and Dan Roark of Dracut; also several nieces and nephews among whom is her special niece, Maureen Moran, her husband Keith and their daughter Katherine of No. Hampton, NH.She was a sister of the late Richard Delaney who died in 1951 and Maureen Delaney who died in 1945.CROWE -- Relatives and friends are invited to her Life Celebration at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, from 4 until 7 PM on Monday. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 9 AM in St. Francis Church, Dracut. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
